good kid, m.A.A.d city

A theoretical design of the kendrick lamar album, Good Kid m.A.A.d City. found myself taking heavy inspiration from battlefield cross imagery used in warfare, and connecting that to the gang violence and warfare that is discussed in the album. Visually, I transformed these crosses into trusses with light, showcasing the glorification of violence that the album speaks against. I also found the iconic Van associated with the album manifesting in this design, by being abstracted and taken apart. The location of the van helps balance the composition, while functioning as a symbolic piece that showcases the characters connection to his life spent in Compton, and how it is a part of his life that is always overlooking him.
